UNKLE reveal new album collaborations

UNKLE have announced they will be teaming up with Queens of the Stone Age singer Josh Homme for their new album "War Stories".

Homme will sing on the track "Hold My Hand" which will be out on the new album on 9th July.

UNKLE front man James Lavelle will also be making his vocal debut on the album as well as duetting with Richard File on "Morning Rage".

DJ Shadow and Fatboy Slim to play Manchester International Festival

DJ Shadow is one of the DJs playing as part of an interactive event at the Manchester International Festival.

The event - 'Industrial Resolution - The Industrial Revolution To Digital Resolution' - will happen on 6^th and 7^th July.

As well as DJ Shadow, Fatboy Slim and 2 Many DJs will be amongst the artists soundtracking images which highlight Manchester's themes of industrial and digital revolution.

Billy Bragg, Mick Jones and Hard-Fi for Joe Strummer benefit concert

Billy Bragg, Hard-Fi and Clash bandmembers Mick Jones and Topper Headon are to play a benefit concert for striking firefighters.

The gig will mark the fifth anniversary of the now legendary show that Joe Strummer performed with his former bandmate Jones at Acton Town Hall in 2002 - just weeks before his death.

The show - Arms Aloft - will take place in Acton Town on 15^th November, and is backed by the Fire Brigades Union.

A portion of the proceeds from this year's show will go towards a new Billy Bragg-fronted campaign entitled Jail Guitar Doors, which aims to put musical instruments in prisons up and down the country, in the memory of Strummer.

Radiohead announce rare EP UK release

Radiohead have confirmed that they will be reissuing a rare EP from 2004 this May.

"Com Lag (2+2+5)" was originally released in the Japan and Australia territories, but on 16^th April will be available in the UK.

A US release is scheduled for 8^th May.

Amy Winehouse to headline Somerset House

The headline artists for this year's Summer Series at London landmark Somerset House have been revealed today.

The annual shows will kick off with Mogwai on 12^th July, and will also see performances from Amy Winehouse, Kasabian, Guillemots and Hot Chip.

Chart-toppers Mika and Lily Allen will also appear at the event that runs until 21^st July.

There will also be a collaborative show from Bert Jansch, Beth Orton and former Suede member Bernard Butler on 14^th July.

The headliners are as follows, support acts will be announced in the coming weeks:

Libertines reunite...for 45 mins!

Carl Barat and Pete Doherty have appeared on stage together for the first time in three years.

It happened at the second of Pete's 'An Evening with Peter Doherty' gigs at London's Hackney Empire last week.

Doherty introduced his former bandmate with:

"Ladies and gentlemen, I've been waiting for this moment, Carl Barat."

After hugging on stage to loud cheers, the pair played a 45-minute set of Libertines tunes including What Katie Did Next, and Time for Heroes.

It could well be the first of many joint appearances, but Barat's spokesman Tony Linkin said:

"They just got together for the night. There are no plans for anything more than that.

Barat recently said:

"We're not doing very different things but at some point I'd be happy to work with Pete. Our relationship hasn't really faded away."

Doherty was kicked out of The Libertines in 2004, supposedly because of his drug habit, and the pair barely spoke for years.

Ongoing visa problems scupper The View US tour again

The View have cancelled yet another tour of the US, citing continuing visa problems.

The band will not play their scheduled shows, which were due to kick off 30th April in Cambridge, MA, reports Brooklyn Vegan.

The View previously cancelled a February tour due singer Kyle Falconer facing charges after he was discovered to be in possession of cocaine. He was later fined £1,000 by a Scottish court for the offense.

Despite the fact that his solicitor saying during the hearing that a conviction would make it "next to impossible" for the band to tour America, dates were rescheduled for this month.

Now according to a statement issued to the US media: "Due to continuing visa and immigration issues, Scotland's The View has cancelled its American tour originally set for May. (All tickets will be refunded at the place of purchase.)"

The Scottish indie rockers were set to promote their debut album 'Hats Off To The Buskers'.

Camden Crawl headliners announced

The first headliners have been announced for Camden Crawl.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, The Charlatans and Travis have all signed up.

They join Cooper Temple Clause, Billy Bragg and The Damned for the two day event which takes place in London on 19th and 20th April.

The end of the road for Glastonbury touts

Organisers of the Glastonbury Festival have proudly announced that their new ticket registration system has successfully prevented ticket touts from mass buying available tickets.

Popular music events are often targeted by ticket touts who buy large numbers of tickets for resale at inflated prices. Such tickets are often resold on auction websites such as eBay.

A quick search through eBay would seem to confirm that this is indeed the case as not even a single ticket appears to be listed. eBay have also confirmed that they've not removed any Glastobury ticket listings.

However, a lack of tickets isn't going to stop people trying to cash in on Glastonbury fever in other ways. An example of this being one seller offering the telephone number that allowed them to get straight through to purchase tickets.

Noel Gallagher touts for Glastonbury acoustic slot

Noel Gallagher has announced that he’s about to give his solo performances a rest in order to concentrate on Oasis - but would be interested in doing something at Glastonbury this year.

So far he hasn’t been asked but claims he’d be happy to do an acoustic slot in one of the tents, telling NME:

"Playing the acoustic stuff at the festivals would be good, actually Glastonbury acoustic tents sounds nice! That would be good. Yeah do us a favour stick that in and Mr Eavis will give me a call.!"
