Behind Amy Winehouse's brash exterior of beehive, mascara and sailor tattoos, and a personality to match, lies the richest and most encapsulating soul voice we've heard for many years.

With "Back To Black", the 23-year-old Londoner has delivered an album more than worthy of showcasing this immense talent.

Tales of love, loss and lust are expertly delivered with Motown-esque harmonies, soaring orchestrations and lyrics to make you laugh, cry and cringe all at the same time. And of course, that voice.

In the best lyrical traditions, she sings about what she knows best, drink, drugs and relationships, typified sublimely where she sings about her homegrown weed, declaring "it got me addicted, more than any dick did".

With UK awards already aplenty and her recent accolade of having the highest ever debut UK female solo album in the US, the future is looking far from black for Ms Winehouse.
