When you release a debut album with the quality of "Employment" it's difficult to see what aspirations you can have for a follow-up other than "more of the same".

If that were the case with Kaiser Chiefs then they have duly delivered with "Yours Truly, Angry Mob", a gritty, working-class, Britpop album that would help define the genre if it weren't fifteen (yes, fifteen!) years old.

In a world currently awash with more "traditional" indie guitar bands, "Yours Truly, Angry Mob" sounds surprisingly fresh, bringing the band's much needed "pop" edge to the proverbial musical table after a 2 year break.

Yet again driving, hook-laden guitars and anthemic melodies are, as expected, in abundance. While this will undoubtedly please their existing loyal fanbase, it will do little to attract those who weren't so enamoured with their debut. However, judging by the vast amount of units they shifted and the corresponding awards they won, these would appear to be in the minority.

To quote the Elland Road faithful, "Leeds Leeds Leeds..."
